Man, it is RAINING outside, it is POURING it is HAILING TAXI'S!

I foolishly ventured out the door - driven by hunger to the local supermarket. I was soaking before I made it to my car, and the safety of the big golf umbrella. Fark! Driving was more like swimming, and my regular puddle in the maaaaaaall carpark was not as much fun as usual, because I could barely see the damn thing.

It hailed on my building at work today (in the office on a saturday - grrrr) and flooded a level crossing near my house.

I hate weather.

Hmmmm... Decaf.

Suck on this lot, Dr. Freud!

First dream: I was walking from a pub in a mixed commercial/residential area in Adelaide - lots of low-rise painted buildings with worn old advertising painted on the side. I was walking with [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny, who they suddenly flew off into the sky. She just stood there, held her arms out, and lifted straight off the ground. As she flew off, she was in a pose similar to how a four year old draws a woman - arms out, legs slightly apart, skirt forming a perfect triangle. Somehow I knew she was off to visit or hang out with some of her witch friends...

Second dream (not necessarily the same night): I went off to a large rambling country house, not unlike the one my Aunt had near King Lake, but with elements from a friend's place in Clifton Hill. I was there for a few days, hanging out with the residents, who might have been family, can't recall. Then they all departed, and left me to look after the place, and their... Ninja. He lived there as well, never said anything, sometimes looked like a member of TISM, sometimes like one of my lego ninjas, and sometimes like a regular ninja. I fed him and mended his uniform...

Dream three: The planet was being assaulted by small flying aliens, a bit like fat darts. No-one seemed particularly concerned, despite a fairly frightening death toll. Somehow, I was responsible for inventing a kind of glass they couldn't get through - they just splatted against it. I imagine everyone was pretty pleased, but I woke up before I found out...

My brain is weird.

Spent some of last night at the Comedy Club/Last Laugh, which resides these days in a hot room at the very very top of the Athenaeum theatre. Seriously, almost got a nose bleed climbing all the stairs. Went along with [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny(of course), [livejournal.com profile] stillbeing, and three other people who don't have blogs that I'm aware of :-)

There were three chaps on, none of whom I'd ever heard of - probably a side effect of not watching television. They were Des Dowling, Luke Whitby and Damien Callinan.

Now, my retention of names, and my short term memory being what it is, I can't now tell you which was which, so the quick review: One mad Irishman with a beard and long hair, who could really dance, and was very fucking funny. His "Yoda Pulls a Workers Comp Scam" material being particularly fine. Wish I could remember it, it did include the phrase "To the Hand must talk you." One of them wasn't particularly funny - I think he was having an off night, he looked like he knew what he was doing but it just wasn't quite clicking. And finally one of them was about one step removed from being a yobbo - but was very fucking funny as well, even though his whole act seemed to consist of insulting random members of the Audience. Including some poor american guy called George who it transpired was from "Los Angeles, California" and worked in "Post production on Reality TV". We mock-booed on hearing that. One joke I can recall - something about being a guy with a chiuaua (fuck, how do you spell that???) on a long long leash who was clearly finishing for a larger dog.

I've seen more comedy in the last couple of weeks than since last years Comedy festival. Speaking of which, that's on in a month or so. I did also just get an e-mail from the Bedroom Philosopher telling me he's moving back to Melbourne after a stint in Sydney. He was quite pleased his song "I'm So Post-Modern" beat a Beck song in the Hottest 100...

Anyway, best go eat my dinner...

Never done this before, so here goes.

Some recent pictures. I'm old fashioned - these were taken with a Pentax SLR camera from the late Seventies, on Ilford Black and White 400 ASA/ISO film, then scanned after being developed by the good people at Michaels...

Ok, first we have [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny in a rare moment of stillness, sitting on the lawn at Heidi:

Cuteness!

Next, me!

Stud Muffin

Note political t-shirt and cool sunnies :-)

And finally, a random shot of [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny favorite instrument:

Bassoon Keys

Hmmm.... Sugar free bubble gum...

I highly recommend the Astronomy Picture of the Day, which includes such cool shit as this and this.

Ok, that's probably enough entries for one day :-)
