My Mother's Car Votes Labor
Feb. 22nd, 2006 09:49 pmMy mother drives an extremely old Subaru, which will be old enough to vote soon. My mother assures me it'll be voting Labor.
My car is the same model, but slightly younger, I suspect it'll vote Green when it comes of age next year.
I was forced to watch about five minutes of Channel V at my gym the other day. Man what a pile of puke! Yumi, the presenter - who I believe was once an acquantence of my friend Hazel's - was doing what might be loosely described as "Film Reviews". One review, for Muinch, went a bit like this:
"This isn't really a Channel V kind of film, it's a bit boring, there's not a lot of action. But you can spend a lot of the movie thinking of what a hotty Eric Bana is, and of all the naughty things you'd like to do with him."
WTF???? I mean, really, what the fuck? I've not seen the film, but I believe it deals with fairly serious stuff - the events after the killing of a number of Israeli athletes at the Olympics in 1972. I can't imagine how a film like that can be treating in such a vacuous and superficial way. Yet another reason why I don't watch television, let alone pay television.
Lots of stuff happening here. I went with
evildoom_bunny to see comedians on Saturday night - Corinne Grant and Greg Fleet. They were testing material on some randomly selected members of the public. Corinne was funnier than I expected, and Fleet, well, his material needs some work, but he's a funny guy.
Speaking of comedians, Justin "Bedroom Philosopher" Haezelwood just dropped me an e-mail, he's rather chuffed that his song "I'm so post modern" was voted a higher spot than a Beck song in the latest Hottest 100. He's also worthy his own entry in the wikipedia.
Best get off to bed...
