Dear Diary,

It occurs to me this week that writing up my life on this here journal occupies almost as much time as actually living my life...

So, anyway, here's some of the stuff I've been up to.

Last weekend I had another four day weekend - yay - I took the monday off and then had Anzac day.

On the Friday night we went off to see Lano and Woodley, which was pretty damn funny. They are clever humorous guys, but somewhat insufficiently biting for my liking. I have many Bill Hicks CDs for example. I like my comedy to be at least a little political.

[livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny and I were on the Radio on Saturday morning last weekend, on SYN-FM, talking about TV Turn Off Week. [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny say's I'm a microphone hog. She's right :-)

Saturday night (remember, this is a week back, so it must have been around the 22nd o' April) we went to a party at my old house on Elm street - the one infested with Vegans! I turned on the gas to the built in barbecue which I'd turned off two years before when I moved out, found them the well-hidden light switch to one of their outside lights, and collected two pieces of mail addressed to me! One was a letter offering me my current job, from August of last year, and the second was a bad Porn catalogue from Darwin. Here's a tip folks: never put your address on anything at Sexpo!

Then we had to pop in to my Cousin's place for the birthday of another, younger, cousin. It was a surprise party, with a Cowboys dressup theme - which of course we didn't know about. And it turns out that my "Little" cousin was turning 30!!!! Then off to the third do of the evening, a guy I know called Doug was off to the UK for an indefinite period, so we popped into the Night Cat to have a drink with him.

Sunday night we went to a double feature at the Astor of "A Fist Full of Dollars" and "For a Few Dollars More", early Sergio Leone Spaghetti Westerns. Sara was disappointed there was no spaghetti in either of them. Great little films, through, they're showing the third in the cycle "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" on Sunday May 21st, which I will have to drag Sara too...

Monday night we went to the Golden Guy Fawkes awards. Check out the review below!

Thursday night, don't ask me how, I was in the studio audience for a classy little show on Channel 31 called Chart Busting 80's, the premise of which seems to be a whole lot of people cram into a shit-poor little studio under RMIT, and dance badly to videos from the Eighties. Eep. Here's me, not owning a television, in the middle of TV Turn Off Week, a well-known hater of Eighties music in the studio audience for this thing... What was I thinking????

Friday night we popped over to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic centre (say that three times fast) where [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny played Badminton.I was persuaded to play briefly, but it's not my thing - I have shit poor hand-eye co-ordination, for one thing.

Saturday night - this is last night now - we went and say the "Renegades of Folk", part of the Comedy festival. I was briefly the audience participant and managed to get a laugh with my replies. We chatted briefly to Justin Haezlewood after the show - he remembered me from a brief encounter on a tram last year, and some silly e-mail exchanges. He was pleased to meet [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny, since I'd mentioned my pursuit of her last year! I'd asked "Should I persue the cute Bassoonist of my acquaintance?" He said "Yes, and if it doesn't work out, give me her number!" He he he.

Later, we dragged ourselves to Trades Hall to see Eddie Perfect perform with his band "The Men". Turned out that [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny knew one of the "men", Shannon the Trombonist! Eddie was playing mainly covers, although he did do one of his songs, which I'd never heard before, called "In Too Deep" about being an internet porn addict!

This morning we had breakfast with Hazel and her kid Amy. For once Amy didn't get bored with all these adults...

Ok, that was my week. Fuck, then I wonder why I'm always tired...
