Went looking for it today (I was subscribing to a bunch of comic emails, so I don't have to read the paper :-) because I hadn't been following it in a while. Turns out the reason I hadn't seen it in a while is because it mutated back in 2001 and is now called Monty. WTF? How can a cartoon continue when it's lead character is kidnapped by aliens? Smacks of jumping the shark to me.
Ok, so, there are probably more important things going on in the world that I should be spending my outrage on :-)

Date: 2006-09-23 02:47 am (UTC)I remember it well. I used to love Robotman. It was probably an unhealthy love (and not the only one) but...I loved it. I used to cut the comic strips out of the Herald Sun and save them. I think I had one little bit they did where Robotman and Monty travelled back in time to be on the Titanic, and ended up floating on an inflatable rubber pool toy (only to be yanked back into the present time stuck to each other's rear ends). And they did an X Files parody which was great.
I went looking for it a while back and found the disturbing horror of "Monty" *sobs*. It's awful :(
So, yes, I offer hugs and shared heartbreak over this :/
