I'd Like A Piece of Meat
Jun. 18th, 2007 12:18 amI got paid. Yay. We had almost nothing in the house - maybe half a teaspoon of sugar, the crusts of a loaf of bread. So I spent most of Saturday shopping, off at my favourite shopping place, Preston Market.
I was going to get
evildoom_bunny to take some pictures of the enormous pile of meat I acquired, but she was too overwhelmed. Lets see, I got a large chook for roasting, two kilos of beef burgundy sausages, a huge chunk of lamb (and some bones to go with it, to "give to my dog" the butcher told me. I didn't have the heart to tell him I didn't have one), two huge slices of Cow for stewing, a kilo of bacon and about a dozen lambs hearts.
Yes, lambs hearts. They were on super-special, four bucks for a whole tray. I figured
schnitzelrug would like them. She agreed.
Seriously, my chiller bag was almost impossible to get up the stairs, and now the freezer is so full of meat nothing else will fit. Cool, we shouldn't starve over the next couple of weeks :-)
