Long Overdue Update
Dec. 6th, 2006 07:19 pmAs usual, more has been happening than I can possibly blog.
So let us start with last weekend.
Friday night
evildoom_bunny went out to her "home". It's home in the sense that she technically lives there, even though she's only spent one night there in the last couple of months. She has a desk and a PC at my place, keys to the door, clothes on the floor and gets mail here, but anyway... We went out to North Ringwood to watch DVDs. How's this for a combination: "March of the Penguins" followed by "Team America: World Police"!
Looked up "March o' the Nuns" on IMDB. Apparently the original French version had dialog as if the penguins were talking to each other. David Attenborough would be mortified. Whilst "Team America" is a weird piece of work, quite why they decided to blame hollywood actors for all the worlds ills, I don't know. I mean, they're a self-important bunch of whiners, but still...
Saturday night, a Russian and a German of my acquaintance who have been living in Europe where back in the country and drinking in a pub. The "Lambs Go Bar" no less. So we had to go along. We ended up stuck on a corner table with tow Greg's, and got into a conversation so nerdy
evildoom_bunny almost passed out.
Then we went to an eighteenth birthday at a house in Doncaster - as you do.
xaivaldis's place was full of fire twirling Goths and other assorted riff-raff. It was grand. I made many friends by carrying around a tray of food, I played with a couple of swords and got to see people drinking Fruit Elixir straight from the cask bag. Classy, haven't witnessed that since I was a teenager myself.
Also met a guy there who I'd seen dancing on the street at the G20 protests. I immediately dubbed him "Conical Man" because he was tall and remarkably thin, and was wearing very flared pants that reached the ground. So he was far wider at the bottom than at the top... Hence, conical man. Of course no one had any idea what the fuck I was talking about.
It's still not clear to me who's party it was... I think it was some guy called Sam who kinda lived there, but he couldn't really explain his status there... Maybe he's the young brother of the bloke
xaivaldis is seeing?
Lots of other stuff happened at the party, but I can't be arsed relating it.
Sunday I went back to the gym again, then had "dinner" at my crazy ex-housemate Barbara's place. Barbara can only cook Nachos, so we had nachos... For dinner. We met an interesting woman who seemed to be mostly covered in tattoos, who was Barbara's tutor at Monash. Also chatted to Ben, Barbara's cousin, who also lived in the Northcote House of TISM for a period. Then I went home and attampted to sleep! Did I mention Barbara's place is in Murrumbeena? Fun...
