Deb the Girlfriend came to visit me at my office this evening. She was at a conference which finished early, and couldn't drag me away from my desk early. So she turned up in my lobby!

Today she decided need to demonstrate just how much she liked me, which consisted of jumping in circles, like a wallaby, around me, singing "I like Pauly!". Then she decided I might have got dizzy from this, so she decided to jump around me in the opposite direction, this time going "Nom nom nom!!!"

Just what I like in a GF, enthusiastic lunacy :-)

And for some reason, here's a video:

Ah bugger, they've disabled embedding. So Push It!

Hey Livejournal, I have not been a good blogger (again). Sorry, will post more soon.

I find myself a) extremely busy and b) twittering a lot. Now there's a whole other topic. Anyway, I recommend you follow me on the Twitters if you're on there.

And... I find myself thinking of things I'd like to Blog, which don't really fit the context of this blog, which is most about ME ME ME! Er, I mean, me and my cat :-) I really should do something with those various domains I have, get Wordpress going.

(Er, first.... I'm listening to a recent Bloodhound Gang song, the chorus of which is "Ain't my job/to fuck you on your birthday"... Charming!)

Twitter had broken me as a blogger. Anything longer than about 140 characters seems too long indeed!

Twitter seems to have hit some kind of critical mass recently. I can tell this because people are staring Spam accounts in a big way. And famous folks are getting on to it (I'm following MC Hammer and Yoko Ono and Eli Manning from the New York Giants). And news organisations like Reuters and the ABC have accounts now. Not to mention Doonesbury doing a series of strips about it in the last couple of weeks. Damn, I've been on it since September 2007 (not a happy time for me BTW) which makes me feel like an early adopter.

Clean Feed

Just sent this message to Lindsay Tanner (Federal Finance Minister) on Facebook, where I am his friend:

G'day Lindsay,

I know you're a busy man, and this is not your area, but I'm not friends with Stephen Conroy here on Facebook.

Anyway, I'm not sure if you've been following the "Clean Feed" discussion, debate, whatever you want to call it.

The whole thing is making many of my IT industry, social networking, podcasting friends very, very annoyed.

The whole thing is technically flawed and unlikely to ever work. Not to mention insulting to adults who presumably can make up their own minds about what they'd like to look at on the 'net.

And then today I read that anyone who links to a banned site can be fined thousands of dollars. And that parts of the very interesting site Wikileaks are on the list.

Look, I'm not sure who's idea this was, but that Stephen Fielding thinks its a good idea should tell you that is in fact is not.

If you could have a word to your cabinet colleagues... Tell them the Nerds are feeling aggrieved and restless.

Thanks. BTW, very impressed with the work you're doing in your portfolio.
