First Weird Dream for 2007
Jan. 17th, 2007 11:59 amAt least, the first weird dream I've bothered to transcribe... :-)
I dreamt that myself and at least two other people were riding bikes up a large mountain. It was forested, mostly, and in parts the trail was covered in leaves and bark and quite hard to find.
I was riding a road bike, a racer, rather than a mountain bike, but this didn't seem to hamper me much.
Half way up we found a clearing where someone had been building an aeroplane. It was sitting there, half finished, on a stand (It was an odd design, but I'll spare you the details.) Someone suggested that we fly it back down the hill rather than riding, bit I decided it wasn't airworthy.
Also from this vantage point we could see down to a large harbour, on which there were some buildings and a large pier. Floating in the water were two large red grid things. Weird.
One of the cyclists decided to dive off the mountain into the ocean, which seemed perfectly practical, this being a dream, so he did.
As we rode off again, we heard a huge explosion. We turned around, and one of the red grids was sinking. This seemed perfectly normal, and we continued on our way.
Eventually we reached the top, where there were a number small buildings with, it turned out, a moderately busy road passing behind them. Makes me wonder why we bothered riding up.
Here I encountered a number of members of my family, and several other people I know. We sat around various spartan buildings, played with a couple of stereos. Then it transpired that a fire front was approaching (how up to date is that???) and that we had to evacuate. I spent the rest of the dream trying to get everyone to get their shit together and actually leave, but I woke up before anything bad happened.
Now... What was that all about???? Useful notes: I am a fire warden at my work. I had a conversation with someone last night about bike riding. My sister flew out of the country over the weekend. I think part of the mountain resembles my aunt's old place in the country. Enjoy :-)
