I think the anchor is the only one that looks good in that diagram, and that what's his face (and beard) looks best with just a typical short standard box beard. But I am barely capable of growing visible facial hair, so don't really have any authority on this issue.
I haven't had a beard in a couple of years. I used to grow one each winter - a bit like the guy mentioned above. But damn, it used to make me look oooooooooooooooooooooooold....
