Hmmm.... Perhaps grilling the of these particularly fatty sausages wasn't such a hot idea. Ah well, the flames weren't that big when that fountain of fat connected with the electric elements.

Note to self: Evey kitchen should have a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket. Heck, I'm a fire warden at my office, I should be Aware at All Times where the nearest exit is... :-)

the house I've just moved into has an extinguisher in the kitchen! I haven't tested it so I don't know if it works, but I thought that was pretty cool.


It also wasn't on the condition report...

What kind? Dry chemical? Carbon Dioxide?

It's probably not charged properly, if you know what I mean - probably hasn't been serviced in a while. Mind you, they still work, which I discovered when someone set the cigarette bin on fire on my office balcony......

Some extinguishers can't be used on some kinds of fires - for example the water one's are no use on electrical fires... :-)
