In hospital, I suppose...

When I went into hospotal in Indonesia, after 2 weeks feeling so sick that I thought it unsafe for me to continue to convalesce any longer without medical supervision. But they refused to draw blood for diagnostic purposes. They gave me all sorts of lane excuses.

It wasn't until I transferred to an international medical facility that they actually drew a bit of blood and ran a battery of tests.

In retrospect, I do recall my Sister, a long time ex-pat in Indonesia, telling similar stories. Most wealthy Indonesians go to Singapore for serious medical treatment. Must be a bummer having such a woeful hospital system. But hey, so do we.

Also remember a Russian friend of mine describing the difference in diameter of a Russian needle and a "western" needle....
