Last Evil Doom Bunny related post today I swear!

We've been playing a game of "invent the collective noun", you know, how a group of birds is called a Flock, a bunch of cows is called a herd.

The other night I was asking my Lawyer friend Pauline what the collective noun was for a group of lawyers. I decided that a "Bastard of Lawyers" was pretty apt. Earlier, we'd decided that a group of bears should be called a "Posse of Bears".

And on the way home tonight, [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny suggested a "Cache of Nerds" to describe the network gaming place we were driving past. Nice work baby.

In entirely different news, I dreamt the other morning that [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny was driving me around a big round about in her little white car. For no apparent reason, we then drove into a lake, and the car sank quietly to the bottom. I wasn't concerned, because I knew, somehow, that it was a dream...

Eight Years o' Weight Lifting

Dear Diary,

Catching up with a few past events, worthy of note.

Sunday, June 4th was the eighth anniversary of my joining a gym. Search me why I remember this stuff, but there you go. I celebrated the occasion by... going to the gym. I may also have flexed a bicep for the pleasure of [livejournal.com profile] evildoom_bunny.

Here is another of my wonderful random lists. These are all the gyms I've ever visited, in approximate chronological order:
  • RMIT Gym
  • Brunswick YMCA Gym
  • Northcote YMCA Gym (my current gym)
  • City Gym, Adelaide CBD
  • Victorian Aquatic Centre Gym, Albert Part
  • Southport Health Club, Port Melbourne
  • Newtown Gym, Sydney
  • Gym in Newscastle, NSW, that I can't remember the name of
  • Fitness On The Park, North Adelaide

Ok, but of these, I've only been a member at RMIT, Brunswick, Northcote (twice) and Southport. Hey, if anyone can recommend a good gym around Northcote, let me know, getting a bit tired of the YMCA. It's in the same building as the pool, so it's always a bit damp and the changing rooms always full of ugly, ugly nude men showering. Ick.

Welcome Henriette

I have a new addition to my desk - a small purple flowering plant, of some indeterminate showy species.

Some of you may remember Psychotic Henry the Plant, a plant I had on my desk at my last job. Henry thrived in the airconditioned room, until I foolishly took him home over summer to look after him during the break. I left Henry in the sun, and he died *sob*.

Henry was a Moon Valley or Friendship Plant (Pilea involucrata) which I picked up at the Kmart in Northcote. He was dubbed the most absurd name then-housemate Luna could think of, for such and innocent little pot-plant. Hence, Psychotic Henry the Plant...

Now, since his untimely demise, do you think I could find another plant of the same species? Henry the second? You have to admit, a cool looking plant. I looked low and high, but no, for some reason the only one in the country ended up in the bargain bin in the garden section of Northcote Kmart!

Anyway, does anyone have an opinion about plant naming? I mean, do they even have a gender? I think they're all hermaphrodites... So Henriette could just as easily be Henry the Second...
